Plant cuttings

Also try cutting a dandelion
stem into little pieces and
placing them on a damp paper
towel. You will be astounded to
see how new plants can grow out of
these little plant pieces too.
In addition to growing from seeds as you saw in
previous experiments, plants can also grow from
cuttings. Each cutting should have at least one bud or
leaf above it. In water, roots will form, and the new plant
can then be planted in fresh soil.

*Not all plants are suitable for
growing from cuttings. Try it
with geraniums, spider plants,
rosemary, lavender, roses,
philodendron, or begonias.
Watch out for thorns!
