Coloring flowers
YOU WILL NEED
The flower should be
freshly cut.
The colored water rises up the
flower stalk through narrow
tubes to the flower petals. You
can clearly see the veins as they
take up the dye. The dye allows you
to see not only that the flower
sucks up water, but also how fast
the water travels.
If you divide the stalk in
two and put each half in
a cup with a different
color, you will get a
two-colored flower.
