Introduction

1.1 Overview

The MBI-310I-1D96N blade is a compact, self-contained server that connects into a pre-cabled

enclosure that provides power, cooling, management and networking functions. A Supermicro

6U Microblade enclosure can hold 20 blades. Each blade contains two computing nodes.

In this manual, “blade” or “blade unit” refers to a single blade, and “blade enclosure” is the

chassis that houses the blades, power supplies and other modules. “Blade system” refers to

the enclosure, blades units, and various management and networking modules.
