Risk of Explosion
Providing an Adequate Gas Supply
Important:
Read these instructions carefully before connecting this device to a gas supply.
CAUTION
• Use a new CSA or UL approved gas supply line.
• Install an individual shutter.
• Tighten all gas connections securely.
• Examples of qualified persons include licensed heating personnel, authorized gas
company personnel, and authorized service personnel.
• Failure to do so may result in death, explosion or fire.
• All gas connections must be made in accordance with national and local regulations codes. This gas
supply (service) line must be the same size or larger than the inlet line to the appliance. The sealant on all
pipe joints must be resistant to the action of LP/Propane gas.
• A manual shut-off valve must be installed in the gas supply line outside the unit and in an easily accessible
location in order to turn the gas on and off to the unit. Recommended location for the shutoff valve is in the
cabinet, under the installation cutout.
• The gas supply line to the appliance must be ½" (1.3 cm) or ¾" (1.9 cm) pipe.
• Close all openings in the cabinet cavity surrounding this appliance. All the Openings around gas service
outlets must be closed at the time of installation.
• In the United States: The installation must comply with local codes or, in the absence of local codes, to
the National Fuel Gas Code ANSI Z223.1/NFPA 54, latest edition.
• In Canada: The installation must comply with current regulations CAN/CGA-B149.1 National Gas
Installation Code or CAN/CGA-B149.2, Gas Installation Code propane and/or local codes.
