To prepare the blower for transportation or stor‐
age:

Switch off the blower, 16.

Remove the batteries, 15.2.
► If the batteries or blower became damp or wet
during operation, allow them to dry separately
and completely before charging or storing,

20.1 Blower
When transporting the blower:
► Carry the blower as a backpack with the
straps of the harness over both shoulders or
with the carrying handle integrated into the
backplate.

► When transporting the blower in a vehicle,
secure the blower tube with the loop fas‐
tener (1) on the hook (2) and position the
blower to prevent turnover, impact and dam‐
age.
20.2 Batteries
WARNING
■ To reduce the risk of a short circuit, which
could lead to electric shock, fire and explosion,
never transport the batteries with small metal
objects capable of conducting electricity (e.g.,
paper clips, nails, coins, keys),

When transporting the batteries:
► Secure the batteries in a container against
impact or damage. Never transport the batter‐
ies with small metal objects capable of con‐
ducting electricity (e.g., paper clips, nails,
coins, keys).
► If you are transporting the batteries in a vehi‐
cle, secure them and their container to prevent
turnover, impact and damage.
STIHL batteries comply with the requirements
set forth in UN-Manual of Tests and Criteria, Part
III, Subsection 38.3.
Commercial air, vessel and ground transporta‐
tion of lithium ion cells and batteries is regulated.
The battery is classified as a UN 3480, Class 9,
packaging group II product. Shipping it, either as
a complete tool or the battery, requires compli‐
ance with all applicable shipping regulations.
Check with the ground, vessel, air cargo or pas‐
senger airline to determine if transport is prohibi‐
ted or subject to restrictions or exemptions prior
to shipping or travel.
Normally, no further conditions have to be met by
the user in order to transport STIHL batteries by
road to the power tool's operating site. Check
and comply with any special regulations that may
apply to your situation.

21 Storing the Blower and
Batteries
21.1 Blower
WARNING
■ Store the blower indoors in a dry, secure place
that is inaccessible to children and other unau‐
thorized users. Never store the batteries in the
blower. Improper storage can result in unau‐
thorized use and damage to the blower.
WARNING
■ To reduce the risk of unintended activation,
never store the blower with the batteries inser‐
ted. Always remove the batteries before stor‐
ing.
When storing the blower:
