Squeeze the trigger switch (1) with your index
finger.
The blower will activate.
The further the trigger switch is depressed, the
stronger the blowing force.
16.2 Switching Off
WARNING
To reduce the risk of personal injury from unin‐
tended activation or unauthorized use, switch
off the motor and remove the batteries before
transporting or putting the blower down.
To switch the blower off:
Release the trigger switch so that the trigger
switch springs back to the locked position.
17 Checking the Controls
17.1 Testing the Controls
Before starting work, confirm that the trigger
switch (1) is undamaged and functioning prop‐
erly.

WARNING
To help reduce the risk of injury from blown
objects, always wear proper eye protection
while testing the controls. Keep bystanders at
least 50 ft. (15 m) away.
To test the controls:
Remove the batteries.
Attempt to depress the trigger switch.
Make sure it moves freely and springs back
into place when released.
Insert the batteries.
Hold the blower firmly with one hand on the
control handle. Squeeze the trigger switch with
your index finger.
The blower should switch on. If the fault indi‐
cator LED flashes red or 3 LEDs on the batter‐
ies flash red: remove the batteries and take
the blower to an authorized STIHL servicing
dealer to be repaired before use.
Release the trigger switch.
The blower should switch off.
If the blower does not switch off after you
release the trigger switch, remove the batter‐
ies and take the blower to an authorized
STIHL servicing dealer to be repaired before
use.
If the blower does not switch off after you
release the trigger switch, check if the power
hold button is activated,
18.2 if the blower
continues to run, remove the batteries and
take the blower to an authorized STIHL servic‐
ing dealer to be repaired before use.
18 During Operation
18.1 Selecting the Power Level
The unit can be operated at three different power
settings, indicated by LEDs on the operating unit.
The higher the power level, the stronger the
blowing force.
To set the power level:
Switch the blower on.
The power level LEDs on the operating unit
indicate the current power level.

Depress the power lever selector to activate
the next power level.
Performing this operation at the highest power
level will cause the unit to return to the first
power level.
Generally, battery runtime will be shorter when
operating continuously at the higher power lev‐
els.
