Heat storage
NOTICE
Limited photovoltaic self-consumption
If you have installed too little heat storage or none of
the heat storage systems listed below in your system,
EM Trend can only increase photovoltaic self-con-
sumption to a limited extent.
u When designing your system, ensure that it is
sufficiently equipped with heat storage systems
so that you can operate EMTrend with good res-
ults.
EM Trend increases photovoltaic self-consumption by storing
heat in existing heat storage systems. Therefore ensure that
your system has the appropriate storage capacities to enable
photovoltaic self-consumption to be increased:
DHW cylinder
Heating buffer cylinder
with
mixer
Building mass as a heat store (only limited usability if no
room-based remote control (FET) is available)
If heat stores are installed in your system, ensure that the heat
store temperatures are higher than the selected ECO or comfort
temperature. Observe the recommendations in
Parameters for
heat pump operation [}16]
.
3.2 Information displays
The SERVICEWELT start page and diagram section show inform-
ation about real-time energy management. To display this in-
formation, EM Trend must be configured and activated, see
"
Connecting an electricity meter with ISG Internet Service Gate-
way [}14]
" and "
ISG Internet Service Gateway settings [}15]
".
The values on the information displays are only updated when
the start page is reloaded.

Weather icon
Indicates the current weather at the location based on data from
a weather information service. If an icon is displayed, EMTrend
weather forecast data is available for operation scheduling.
Actual power drawn from/exported to the mains
Indicates the power currently measured by the current sensor at
the mains connection point of the building. This is an average
over the last 30 seconds. Negative values mean that surplus
photovoltaic power is being fed into the mains. When the values
are positive, power is being drawn from the mains.
Standby power of building
Indicates the minimum power drawn from the mains measured
by the current sensor (between 3and 5h). Updated daily.
This standby power generally indicates the minimum electrical
power consumption value, i.e. when only essential electrical ap-
pliances in the home consume power.
Forecast of next store superheating
Indicates when EMTrend will next take over control of the heat
pump according to the generated operation schedule.
This is only displayed when EM Trend is working with the
photovoltaic forecast. For this, the weather forecast dependency
must be set to "low", "medium" or "high" (

Select operating mode
For operation of EMTrend, one of the following must be selec-
ted as the operating mode:
PROGRAMMED MODE
AUTOMATIC MODE (LWZ)
DHW MODE
We recommend PROGRAMMED MODE or AUTOMATIC MODE
(LWZ). This takes into account time windows set by the user for
operating times with set values for comfort and ECO temperat-
ure.
Energy management status
The diagram area shows the operating activity of the heat pump
over the course of the current day.
"OFF" = heat pump inactive
"ON" = heat pump active (no control via EMTrend)
"EM" = heat pump active (control via EMTrend)
Increase in on-site consumption in kWh
The diagram area shows the calculated electrical power con-
sumption of the heat pump over the past 7 days during control
by EMTrend. As EMTrend only takes over control and matches
the output of the heat pump when surplus photovoltaic power is
measured, this consumption corresponds to the increase in
photovoltaic self-consumption achieved.
4 System configuration
EM Trend energy management is incorporated into a system
comprising a heat pump and photovoltaic system.
