DISTANCE MEASUREMENT
1) Position the rule at the measuring point to which the
distance is to be measured.
2) Aim the device and take the measurement, then read
the values from the upper and lower line of the ruler
cross-hairs. The reading unit is cm. Determine the
dierence between the top and bottom lines.
3) The distance marked in the drawing as "l" is
expressed in meters. 1 cm determined during the
measurement corresponds to 1 m distance between
the device and the measuring point.
2) Press the tripod legs into the ground (as shown in
the drawing below).
3) Place the leveller on the tripod and fasten it by
tightening the "B" locking screw (visible in the
drawing in sec. 1).
LEVELLING AND FOCUSING THE LEVELLER
1) Level the leveller by adjusting the screws (8) until the
bubble inside the vial (12) is centrally located.
2) To focus, aim the leveller towards the levelling rule,
then look through the viewnder (10) and keep
turning the focusing knob (6) until the image is in
focus.
3) Keep looking through the viewnder and rotate the
micrometer screw (7) until you have aimed at the
centre of the ruler.
3.3. DEVICE USE
3.3.1. MAKING MEASUREMENTS
Note! When positioning the rule at the measuring point,
always use a striding level to obtain a vertical position.
Incorrect adjustment of the rule may cause erroneous
measurements.
Level the device and set it in focus before each
measurement.
HEIGHT MEASUREMENT
1) Position the device centrally between points A and B.
2) Position the rule in point A and aim the device. Make
the measurement and read the value "a" on the
middle line of the cross-hairs on the rule.
3) Set the rule in point B and aim the device. Make the
measurement and read the value "b" on the middle
line of the cross-hairs on the rule.
4) Calculate the height dierences by subtracting the
values "a" and "b" from each other. Example:
l [m]
l [cm]
l
ANGLE MEASUREMENT
1) To determine the angle between points A and B, rst
position the rule in point A.
2) Aim the device at the rule positioned in point A and
read the value indicated by the horizontal circle (the
value is indicated by marker (9)).
3) Aim the device at the rule positioned in point B and
read the value indicated by the horizontal circle.
4) The dierence between readings is the angle
between points A and B.
3.3.2. ADJUSTING THE DEVICE
CHECKING THE VIAL
1) Using the levelling screws (8), level the device so that
the bubble is in the canter of the vial.
2) Turn the device 180°, the bubble should still be in the
centre of the vial. Otherwise, make adjustments.
3) Use a hexagonal key to gently turn the screws on
both sides of the vial thus changing the bubble
position. In this way, place the bubble in the centre
of the vial.
4) After positioning the vial bubble in the centre, turn
the device 180° again. If the bubble moves, adjust
again. Repeat these steps until the bubble remains
invariably in the centre.
LEVELLING THE AIMING LINE
1) Establish two measuring points A and B spaced
from 30 to 50 m apart. Position the device centrally
between the measuring points.

MOUNTING THE LEVELLER ON THE TRIPOD
Note! The tripod is not provided with some models, you
can buy it as a separate item.
1) Fold out the legs of the tripod and spread it to the
preferred height, lock the setting by turning the "A"
screws.
Read instructions before use.
