8.2. Internal water lter
What it is for
Theinternalwaterlterensuressuperbquality
andpuricationofthewaterusedforthepro-
ductionoficecubes;itslteringdurationisupto
3,000 litres (792,6 gal) and for a maximum time
of 12 months.
Filter
replacement
Thelterislocatedinsidetherefrigeratorcompart-
ment, above the top glass panel.
Before changing the lter,deactivatethe Icemaker
temporarily (see chapter 5) Activating/Deactivating
the Ice maker on page 22).
Pull both levers on the front of the glass to release
the locking mechanism and pull the glass down, then
carefullyrotatetheltercartridgeaquarterofaturn
counterclockwise until it is released from its seat (it
is normal for a small amount of water to come out).
Remove the cap from the new cartridge and insert it
in its housing by gently rotating it clockwise for one
quarter rotation until it locks into place, without forc-
ing it.
After replacing the lter
> clean the circuit following the instructions in
chapter 8) Manual lter cleaning (optional, BMI
and FZI modelsonly)onpage25;
> remove the water from the ice container and
dry it.
8.3. External water lter for freezer
column Ice Maker
Freezer columns equippedwith automatic ice-
makersincludeanexternallymountedwaterl-
ter kit.
Thewaterltermanifoldandwaterlineconnec-
tions must be installed in conjunction with the
fridge as the waterline connecting the back of
theappliancetothelterkitmustbeinplace
before installing the unit.
Thelterkitshouldbeinstalledinanaccessible
location (such as an adjacent cabinet or under
it) to allow for the water lter cartridge to be
changed annually.

IfyouchooseNOTtousethewaterlter(forin-
stance because the appliance is connected to
analreadylteredwater source)then we sug-
gest you disable the warning to avoid receiving
reminderstochangethelter(that you are not
using).

tion setting, follow the instructions in chapter
6a)Waterlter-deactivation(optional, BMI and
FZI models only) on page 24).
Aftereveryannualreplacementofthewaterl-
ter cartridge, it is necessary to reset the count
ofthequantityoflteredwaterandofthetime
elapsed since the last replacement following
the instructions in chapter 6a) Reset Filter on
page 24.
