After use, ALWAYS remove the plug from the mains power
socket. Switching the appliance off is not sufficient, because
the appliance is under power for as long as the plug is con-
nected to the power socket.
■ Before use check the appliance for signs of visible external
damage. Do not put into operation an appliance that is dam-
aged or has been dropped.
■ Repairs should only be carried out by authorized specialist
companies or by the Customer Service department.
Incompetent repairs can result in significant risks for the user. In
addition warranty claims become void.
■ Do not allow any liquid to run over the appliance’s plug
connections.
■ NEVER submerse the appliance in water or other liquids!
You could receive a fatal electric shock if residual liquids
come into contact with live components during operation.
WARNING! RISK OF INJURY!
■ Heat water only with the lid closed, otherwise the automatic
switch-off cannot function. Boiling water could then spray out
over the rim.
■ Hot steam clouds may be released. The kettle also becomes
very hot during use. It is always best to wear oven mitts when
handling the kettle.
■ Ensure that the appliance is stood stably and vertically before
switching it on. Boiling water can cause an unstable kettle to
fall over.
■ Do not open the lid while the water is boiling.
