3. Description of the Device
The Showtec Melodist Install is a DMX controllable WAV media player for DIN rail mounting. It plays stereo WAV
files from a micro SD card via two balanced outputs. Four status LEDs indicate the status of the player and
control signals.
The Melodist Install has a trigger mode and a player mode. In trigger mode, the device plays up to 10 WAV files
simultaneously, via 10 channels of DMX. If no DMX signal is present, the 6 terminal inputs can be used as triggers
to start the first 6 audio files. In player mode, it plays 1 audio file at a time. In this mode the terminal input allows
control of start/stop/pause, track select, folder select, play mode and volume. There are 4 play modes
available: single continuous, single shot, continuous loop and continuous random.
