• Open the packaging and carefully remove the product.
• Remove the packaging material, as well as the pack-
aging and transport safety devices (if present).
• Check whether the scope of delivery is complete.
• Check the product and accessory parts for transport
damage. Immediately report any damage to the trans-
port company that delivered the Product. Later claims
will not be recognised.
• If possible, keep the packaging until the expiry of the
warranty period.
• Familiarise yourself with the product by means of the
operating manual before using for the first time.
• With accessories as well as wearing parts and re-
placement parts use only original parts. Spare parts
can be obtained from your specialist dealer.
• When ordering please provide our article number as
well as type and year of manufacture for the product.
8 Assembly
ATTENTION
Always make sure the product is fully assembled
before commissioning!
8.1 Connecting the filter cartridge (3)
(Fig. 1, 2)
8.1.1 Suction function
1. Push the hose coupling (7) all the way into the suction
connection (6).
2. Turn the hose coupling (7) clockwise until it is fully en-
gaged.
3. Check that the suction hose (3) is correctly installed
by gently pulling on the hose coupling (7).
8.1.2 Blowing function
1. Push the hose coupling (7) all the way into the blow-
ing connection (5).
2. Turn the hose coupling (7) clockwise until it is fully en-
gaged.
3. Check that the suction hose (3) is correctly installed
by gently pulling on the hose coupling (7).
8.2 Disconnecting the filter cartridge
(3) (Fig. 1, 2)
Disconnect the suction hose (3) from the suction connec-
tion (6) or the blowing connection (5):
1. Turn the hose coupling (7) anticlockwise.
2. Pull the hose coupling (7) out of the suction connec-
tion (6) or the blowing connection (5).
8.3 Attaching the suction pipe (12)
(Fig. 3)
Note:
The suction pipe (12) is suitable for hard-to-reach areas.
1. Attach the suction pipe (12) to the hose adapter (2).
8.4 Storing the suction pipe (12) and
suction hose (3) (Fig. 1, 4)
1. The suction tube (12) can be stored in the holder (13)
on the container lid (9).
2. The suction hose (3) can also be stored in the holder
(13) on the container lid (9) using the hose adapter
(2).
8.5 Removing and attaching the
container lid (9) (Fig. 5)
To remove the container lid (9):
1. Release the locks (4).
2. Lift the container lid (9) off the container (8).
Attach the container lid (9):
1. Place the container lid (9) on the container (8).
2. Attach the container lid (9) with the latches (4).
9 Operation
Please refer to the following descriptions for the function
of the controls.
ATTENTION
Make sure that the ambient temperature does not ex-
ceed 50°C and does not fall below -20°C during work.
ATTENTION
The product is part of the 20V IXES series and may on-
ly be operated with batteries of this series. Batteries
may only be charged with battery chargers of this se-
ries. Observe the manufacturer's instructions.
9.1 Inserting/removing the battery (15)
in the battery mount (1) (Fig. 7, 8)
Inserting the battery
1. Push the battery (15) into the battery mount (1). The
battery (15) clicks into place audibly.
Removing the battery
1. Press the unlock button (16) of the battery (15) and
remove it from the battery mount (1).
9.2 Switching the product on/off
(Fig. 1)
WARNING
– Do not vacuum up glowing materials. Even material
that looks as if it has cooled down from the outside
can still be very hot on the inside. Hot material that
has been sucked out can reignite in the air flow.
– Hot ash should not be extinguished with water, as
the sudden temperature difference can cause
cracks in the chimney.
– Wait at least 24 hours before vacuuming a fireplace
to ensure that the fire has gone out and the ashes
have cooled down.
ATTENTION
Do not use without a filter!
