Explanation of the signal words in the operating
manual
m DANGER
Signal word to indicate an imminently
hazardous situation which, if not avoided, will
result in death or serious injury.
m CAUTION
Signal word to indicate a potentially hazardous
situation which, if not avoided, could result in
minor or moderate injury.
ATTENTION
Signal word to indicate a potentially hazardous
situation which, if not avoided, could result in
product or property damage.
5. General safety instructions
m WARNING – Read the operating manual to reduce
the risk of injury.
WARNING Read all safety information and instruc-
tions. Failure to observe safety information and in-
structions can result in electric shock, re and/or se-
rious injuries.
Save all warnings and instructions for future refer-
ence. Only pass on your compressed air tool together
with these documents.
• The user or the user’s employer must assess the
specic risks that may arise due to each use.
• The safety instructions must be read and under-
stood before setting up, operating, repairing, main-
taining and replacing accessories and before work-
ing in the vicinity of the compressed air tool. If this
is not the case, it can lead to serious physical injury.
• The compressed air tool should be set up, adjusted
or used only by experienced and trained operators.
• The compressed air tool must not be modied. Mod-
ications can reduce the eectiveness of the safety
measures and increase risks for the operator.
• Never attempt to use damaged compressed air
tools. Maintain compressed air tools with care. Reg-
ularly check for misalignment or binding of moving
parts, breakage of parts and any other condition
that may aect the compressed air tool’s operation.
Check that signs and labels are complete and leg-
ible. Have damaged parts repaired or replaced be-
fore using the device. Many accidents are caused by
poorly maintained compressed air tools.
Special safety instructions
Hazards due to ejected parts
• Disconnect the compressed air tool from the air
supply before replacing the tool attachment or ac-
cessory, or before making any adjustment or main-
tenance.
• If the workpiece, one of the accessories or the com-
pressed air tool breaks, parts can be ejected at high
speed.
• Always wear impact-resistant eye protection when
operating or replacing accessories or when carrying
out repair or maintenance work on the compressed
air tool. The level of protection required should be
assessed separately for each individual use.
• Wear a safety helmet when working above your head.
Make sure that no danger arises for other people either.
• Ensure that the workpiece is securely fastened.
• Only switch on the compressed air tool when the
tool attachment is properly held in the compressed
air tool by means of the lock.
• To avoid injury, any locking device parts that show
signs of wear, are broken or bent must be replaced.
• Before switching on the compressed air tool, place
the tool attachment rmly on the surface to be
worked on.
Hazards during use
• When using a compressed air tool, the operator’s
hands may be exposed to hazards such as blows,
cuts, abrasions and heat. Wear suitable gloves to
protect the hands.
• Operators and maintenance personnel must be
physically capable of controlling the size, weight
and power of the compressed air tool.
• Holding the compressed air tool correctly: Be ready
to counteract the usual or sudden movements -
keep both hands ready.
• Keep proper footing and balance at all times.
• Prevent unintentional starting. If the air supply is
interrupted, switch o the compressed air tool at
the on/o switch.
