Installing the unit
Selecting a location in cold climates
• When operating the unit in a low outdoor ambient temperature, be sure to follow the instructions described
below.
NOTE
f To prevent exposure to wind, install the unit with its suction side facing the wall.
f Never install the unit at a site where the suction side may be exposed directly to wind.
f To prevent exposure to wind, install a bae plate on the air discharge side of the unit.
f In heavy snowfall areas it is very important to select an installation site where the snow will not aect the unit. If lateral
snowfall is possible, make sure that the heat exchanger coil is not aected by the snow (If necessary construct a lateral
canopy)
1. Construct a large canopy.
2. Construct a pedestal.
- Install the unit high enough o the ground to prevent it being buried under
snow.
f The fan inside outdoor unit will operate regularly, as designed, with switch “K6 ON” to prevent from snow accumulating
inside outdoor unit. (Refer to page 45)
f The outdoor unit should be installed with consideration of the direction of strong winds. These can make the unit turn
over, so the side of the unit should be set to face the wind, not the front of the unit.
