1 INTRODUCTION
Dear gardening friend,
When the joy of gardening is added to the pride of a well-tended lawn, then you
know what you have in your garden tools. You have made a good choice with your
new scarifier. It combines the performance of a great traditional brand with the
innovations of modern high-tech. You will feel this when you work with it, and you
will be delighted when you see the marvellous results.
But before you start with lawn care, here is some important information that you
should definitely bear in mind.
Before using the scarifier for the first time, read these operating instructions
carefully to familiarise yourself with the correct operation and maintenance
of the machine and to avoid injury or damage to your scarifier.
Please also read and observe the separate operating instructions for the charger
and battery, in particular the safety instructions.
Use the scarifier with care. The pictograms on the device indicate the most
important precautionary measures.
The safety instructions in these operating instructions are labelled with symbols.
The meaning of the pictograms and symbols is explained in the following chapters.
The designations "left" and "right" always refer to the left or right side of the
appliance when viewed in the direction of travel.
If you follow the technical instructions carefully, your scarifier will function reliably.
We would like to point out that damage to the scarifier caused by operating errors
is not covered by the warranty / guarantee.
We hope you enjoy maintaining your lawn and grounds.

3 EXPLANATION OF THE PICTOGRAMS
Read and observe the operating instructions and
safety instructions before commissioning!
Beware of thrown objects when the engine is
running - keep a safe distance / keep bystanders
away from the danger zone!
Keep live cables away from cutting tines.
Beware of sharp tines! - Do not cut your fingers or
toes! Ensure that hands and feet do not get under the
housing! - Switch off the motor and remove the
battery(ies) before cleaning and maintenance work.
Danger from spinning parts when the engine is
running - wear safety goggles!
Loud noises can lead to hearing damage -
Wear hearing protection!
Batteries and chargers should not be disposed
of with household waste. Return the battery or
charger to your dealer or take it to a public
collection point.

appliance, accessories and packaging in an environmentally friendly recycling
centre.
Start the engine:
1 Insert the key and turn to "START" to switch on
standby mode.
2 Press and hold the release button.
3 Fold down the safety shift lever.
Motor and tines start up.
The unlocking button (2) can then be released,
while the safety switch bracket must continue to
be held so that the tines continue to run.
As long as the appliance is in standby mode (step 1),
steps 2 and 3 are sufficient to restart the motor.
Motor STOP:
Release the safety switch lever:
Stop the motor and tines. Caution: Tines will continue to
run for a short time!
4 EXPLANATION OF THE SYMBOLS
WARNING
Carefully read and observe the operating instructions and
general safety regulations. Keep the operating instructions for
future reference.
Intended use also includes compliance with the operating,
maintenance and servicing conditions specified by the
manufacturer.

Keep your distance / keep bystanders out of the danger zone!
Contact with the rotating cutting tool can lead to serious injuries.
Thrown objects can cause serious injuries.
Never scarify while people, especially children, or animals are
nearby.
WARNING
Electric shock can cause serious injury.
The electrical equipment must not be modified.
Read and observe the safety instructions for handling the
battery(ies) and the charger in the respective separate operating
instructions!
Do not spray the appliance with water. The electrical system
could be damaged.
Always have the blades replaced or work on the cutter shaft
carried out by a specialist workshop. An incorrectly assembled
cutter head can cause parts to come loose, which can lead to
serious injuries.
WARNING
Electric shock can cause serious injury.
Never drive over live cables with the cutting tool switched on.
Check the area for live cables before and during scarifying and
remove them if possible.
If a live cable is damaged, switch off the appliance and
disconnect the cable from the mains supply.
