Model KX-181A

1 Signal input 1 and 2
Combo input (XLR/6.3 mm jack) for connecting audio units with line level output (e.g. mixing
console or preamplifier) via standard XLR or 6.3 mm jack cables.
2 Signal output 1 and 2
Balanced XLR jacks to route the input signals to another device, e.g. a further active speaker
system of the KX series.
3 Status indicators
POWER = speaker is powered on
SIG = input signal is present
CLIP = soft clipping circuit is active
4 Level control
5 PRESET control
To select the 6 integrated equalizer presets.
6 Groundlift switch
If an interfering hum noise can be heard without a music signal, a ground loop may be the reason
for this. The ground lift selector switch allows for interrupting the ground loop and the humming
should be eliminated: LIFT = signal ground and housing ground are separated, GND = signal
ground and housing ground are connected.
7 Power input
Used to plug in the supplied power cord.
8 Power output
To connect another speaker system of the KX series.
9 Fuse holder
Only replace the fuse when the device is disconnected from mains. Only use fuses of the same
rating and power. The correct fuse value is specified on the rear panel.
