2.2.2 Important safety requirements
Provision for ventilation
1. The appliance must not be installed in a bed sitting room with a volume of less than
20 m

2. If the appliance is installed in a room with a volume of less than 5 m

, an air vent for
an effective area of 110 cm

is required.
3. If the appliance is installed in a room with a volume from 5 m

to 10

, an air vent
for an effective area of 50 cm

is required. The air vent is not needed, if the room
has a door which opens to the outside.
4. If the appliance is installed in a room with a volume of more than 11 m

, an air vent
is not required.
5. When any other fuels burning appliances are operated in the same room, the exhaust
requirements of these appliances have to be included when calculating the required
air vent.
