6.2 Measuring category and notes on insulation

The SCK-C-MODBUS communication module is assigned to measuring category CAT II in

accordance with DIN EN 61010-2-30. It must therefore not be used in other category areas.

The communication module is designed for use in low-voltage data processing. It must not

be located in immediate vicinity of equipment of power generation or power distribution sys-

tems.

The termination area of the devices must no longer be accessible after installation to ensure

sufficient protection against accidental contact with live parts (e.g., installation in a distribu-

tor box or control cabinet).

In the case of the voltage measuring module, plexiglass covers should also be used to pro-

tect against accidental contact.

6.3 Control cabinet

In the control cabinet, snap the devices onto a 35 mm DIN rail in accordance with

DIN EN 50022.

NOTE: Degree of protection

The IP20 degree of protection (IEC 60529/EN 60529) of the device is intended for use

in a clean and dry environment. Install the module in a housing with at least IP54 de-

gree of protection in accordance with EN 60529. The stated limits concerning me-

chanical or thermal loads on the module must not be exceeded.
