Inverters with and without an internal transformer are used in photovoltaic systems. This re-
sults in various electrical characteristics, which must be considered with regard to the de-
sign of the system, cabling, the use of other devices, and the grounding concept.
Inverters with transformers, for example, can be arranged without grounding as well as with
grounding on the negative or positive side.
