4.4 Dielectric tests

Observe the following for dielectric tests or when using insulation monitors in an Inline

station:

Each Inline terminal contains leakage resistors. In case of large Inline stations, the par-

allel connection of leakage resistors can cause the total resistance of the station to drop

below the expected total resistance. In this case, this low total resistance to ground is not

a result of a technical defect or insulation fault.

For a correct insulation measurement:

• Take the initial total resistance of the station into consideration for the measurement

results (offset).

Or

• Insulate the DIN rail from the system ground for the time of the measurement.
