B 2.5 STEP 7 – General

The safe PROFINET gateway is inserted as a PROFINET IO device in the STEP 7 projects

for the PROFINET systems that are to be coupled.

Please note that the safe PROFINET gateway is split into two devices in STEP 7. If the safe

PROFINET gateway is not available as shown in Figure B-10 (A/B), you must first import the

corresponding device description file (GSDML file) and two device symbols in STEP 7.

Insert the required part of the safe PROFINET gateway in the STEP 7 project.

In Figure B-10, the left part of the safe PROFINET gateway has been inserted in the STEP 7

project (A). The slot assignment of the device is shown in the bottom left area.
