1.3 Field of application of the product

1.3.1 Intended use

The ECM current measuring transducers described in this manual are suitable for instal-

lation in electrical systems with different voltage levels.

Keep in mind that electrical systems pose hazards due to high voltages, high short-circuit

currents, electric arcs, and/or other hazards.

1.3.2 Product changes

Modifications to hardware and firmware of the device are not permitted.

Incorrect operation or modifications to the device can endanger your safety or damage

the device. Do not repair the device yourself. If the device is defective, please contact

Phoenix Contact.

1.4 Safety notes

• When installing and operating the device, observe the applicable regulations and

safety directives (including national safety directives), as well as the generally recog-

nized engineering rules.

• Observe the safety information, conditions, and limits of use specified in the product

documentation. Comply with them.

• Opening or modifying the device is not permitted. Do not repair the device yourself

but replace it with an equivalent device. Repairs may only be carried out by the man-

ufacturer. The manufacturer is not liable for damage resulting from non-compliance.

• The device is not designed for use in potentially explosive dust atmospheres.

• Once new configuration data has been written, the device performs a warm start that

changes the properties of the device. Adapt the following control device to these

modifications.

• The devices described in this document are for use in manufacturing industry envi-

ronments. They are not designed for use in private environments. They are class A

devices.

• These devices are class A items of equipment (EN 61000-6-4). When using the

equipment in residential areas, it may cause radio interference. In this case, the op-

erator is obligated to implement appropriate measures.

• The installer of the system is responsible for the safety of the system in which the de-

vice is installed.
