Tripping and reset

Tripping condition for warning 230 V models: >375 V DC

480 V models: >750 V DC

Tripping time Immediate tripping when the DC link circuit voltage is

higher than this level.

Reset method Auto

Reset condition Automatically reset when the DC link circuit voltage is

lower than the reset level.

230 V AC models: <360 V DC

480 V AC models: <720 V DC

Cause Remedial measures

Deceleration time is too short, causing excessive

regenerative energy of load.

Increase the setting value for the ramp time parameter.

Replace the CONTACTRON Speed Starter with a more

powerful model.

Mains voltage too high Check if the input voltage is within the rated input voltage

range of the CONTACTRON Speed Starter. Check for

possible voltage spikes.

Motor ground fault The ground short-circuit current charges the capacitor in

the main circuit through the power supply. Check for

ground faults on the motor cable, control box, and the

internal terminals.

Troubleshoot the ground fault.

Tripping condition for warning Hardware detection

Tripping time Immediate tripping

Reset method Auto Reconnect STO+ to the 24 V terminal and STO- to the GND

terminal. Afterwards, an automatic reset takes place.

Reset condition Reset only after the STO warning is cleared.

Cause Remedial measures

STO+ not connected to 24 V terminal and/or

STO- not connected to GND terminal when

motor at standby or in RUN

Check if STO+ is connected to the 24 V terminal and STO- is

connected to the GND terminal.
