7.2 General information on maintenance

Regular maintenance and testing of the installation ensure higher reliability of the power

supply.

Precautionary maintenance work on the system may only be carried out by trained service

technicians. We recommend to make a maintenance and service contract with the service

partner. For service partner contact information, refer to “Contact for services” on page 87.

Perform the prescribed maintenance services regularly in accordance with the manufac-

turer specifications.

7.3 Inspection

DANGER: Danger to life from electric shock

The system is supplied by several voltage sources: AC mains and DC (vehicle bat-

tery). If only one source is shut off, voltage might still be present in the overall system.

Inspection comprises the complete test of the system.

The actual state of the system is determined and documented. The functions of the entire

system as well as the settings and values are checked. During inspection it is determined if

the system is in a correct, functioning, and safe state.

Inspection is carried out by a competent person. Inspections have to be performed regularly

and at specified intervals. Inspection intervals depend on the intensity of environmental in-

fluences and system strain.

7.4 Maintenance

DANGER: Potentially lethal voltages in the system

Severe injuries or death from ingress of moisture. Only use dry materials to clean the

system.

Please note:

• Do not use inflammable liquids for cleaning.

• Make sure that no moisture gets into the system during cleaning.

• Liquid cleaning agents are not permitted inside the system.

• Do not use cleaning agents containing hydrocarbons for electrically strained insulation

parts.

• Never use compressed air. Dust particles could get inside the system and cause mal-

functions.

• Clean the system regularly. Remove loose dust from the fan covers using a vacuum

cleaner or soft brush.

• During maintenance, work is performed on the system. All measures taken have to be

logged.

• Regularly performed and documented maintenance retain the claim for warranty.
