6.5 Disconnecting the system

Disconnect the power supply before starting any work on the system.

DANGER: Danger to life from electric shock

The system is supplied by several voltage sources:

AC mains and DC source (vehicle battery)

If only one source is shut off, voltage might still be present in the overall system.

The upstream disconnect devices have to be open on all feed-ins.

– AC input (rectifier)

– DC output (batteries)

Open all disconnect devices of all supplies. Make sure that none of the supplies can

be switched on again.

Before performing any work within the system, make sure that there is no voltage.

DANGER: Potentially lethal voltage

When working on the system, observe the correct scope and condition of your per-

sonal protective equipment.

WARNING: Hazard from short circuit or spark formation

Severe injuries when touching or connecting live components. Use insulated tools.

Check disconnection

Use a voltage tester, e.g., DUSPOL, for checking.

All measurement points have to be without voltage.
