3 Product description

The High Power Charging system is a high power charging system for vehicle batteries.

In its basic design, the system control cabinet consists of two separated charging points.

Each of the two charging points can be equipped with two CHARX PS/3AC/920DC/87.5KW

DC power modules.

This results in a total power of 175 kW per charging point.

You can insert copper bridges into the distribution panel to connect the two charging points

in parallel. This results in a total power of 350 kW.

The High Power Charging system complies with EN 61851-23:2014-11.

3.1 Function description

The new generation of modular charging systems was developed for high availability, power

density, and efficiency.

The system is characterized by the following features:

– Maximum efficiency of up to 97%

– High power density (730 kW/m² footprint)

The systems features the following interfaces:

– CAN communication and firmware update. Only the service partner can update the

firmware.

– Collective fault message as floating contact

– Remote OFF

Operating mode: normal operation (charging operation)

In “normal operation” mode, the system operates in double-conversion mode. The rectifier

input voltage is rectified via an AC/DC converter with sinusoidal current consumption. A

DC/DC converter converts the high DC voltage of the intermediate circuit into the desired

charging voltage.
