Connecting external HDMI
®
2.1 equipment
Certain models have HDMI 2.1 inputs that accept 4K 120Hz signals. These inputs, if present on your TV,
are identified by a bounding box, a 120Hz label, and an adjacent game controller icon. Using these
inputs with HDMI 2.1-compatible equipment, especially game systems, enhances your gaming
experience with the following advanced features:
• Variable Refresh Rate (VRR) reduces or eliminates lag, stutter, and frame tearing for more fluid
and better detailed gameplay.
• Auto Low Latency Mode (ALLM) configures the ideal latency setting to allowing for
smooth, lag-free and uninterrupted viewing and interactivity.
• Quick Frame Transport (QFT) reduces latency for smoother no-lag gaming and real-time
interactive virtual reality.
• Quick Media Switching (QMS) for movies and video eliminates the delay that can occur when a
device changes from one HDMI frame rate to another.
To take advantage of all HDMI 2.1 features, you must connect your equipment with an Ultra High Speed
HDMI
®
cable. Look for cables that have the Ultra High Speed HDMI
®
Certification Label on the package
and the Ultra High Speed HDMI
®
Cable name printed on the cable jacket.

Connecting headphones or analog soundbar (certain models)
Only on certain models, you can connect headphones or an analog soundbar (not provided) to the TV’s
headphone jack.
Tip: Inserting a plug in the headphone jack disables the sound from the TV’s built-in speakers.
Warning: Loud noise can damage your hearing. When using headphones, use the lowest volume setting
on your headphones that still lets you hear the sound.
Certain models also have an audio line out connection that is not affected by TV volume or mute
settings and does not disable the TV speakers. Use this connection when you want to use your amplifier
