Blind Hem
The blind hem creates an invisible hem on garments.
There are two types of blind hems; one is recommended
for medium to heavy fabrics, the other for stretch. The
blind hem is not suggested for light weight fabric,
leather and vinyl.
Hem
Hem is a garment finishing method, where the edge of a
piece of cloth is folded and sewn to prevent unravelling
of the fabric.
Buttonholes
Fabric should be interfaced and/or stabilized where
buttonholes are to be sewn.
Sew a test buttonhole on a fabric scrap to verify the
desired length of the buttonhole.
Measure the desired distance from the fabric edge and
then add the length of your buttonhole.
When sewing, place the finished fabric edge with
stabilizer underneath the presser foot, facing away from
you.
Use the marking on your fabric to position the starting
point.
Manual Buttonhole
Sewing direction for buttonholes without satin stitches or satin
stitch buttonholes sewn with presser foot 5M.
Manual buttonholes are recommended for woven heavy
fabric. To sew a manual buttonhole, use the 5M -
Manual Buttonhole Foot.
1. Sew the first column as long as you want the
buttonhole to be.
2. Touch the reverse button. The machine sews the
bartack and the second column.
3. When the columns are aligned, touch the reverse
button to sew the second bartack.
You can use the repeat buttonhole icon to sew identical
copies. The repeat buttonhole icon is only visible when
sewing a buttonhole manually. Deselect to cancel the
function.
