5) CAREFUL HANDLING AND USE
OF BATTERY DEVICES
a) Charge the batteries only in
chargers that are recommended
by the manufacturer. Risk of re if
a charger that is suitable for a specic
type of battery is used with other bat-
teries.
b) In the power tools, use only the
batteries designed for the pur-
pose. The use of other batteries may
result in injuries and risk of re.
c) Keep the unused battery away
from paper clips, coins, keys,
nails, screws and other small
metal objects, which could
cause bridging of the contacts. A
short circuit between the battery contacts
may cause burns or re.
d) If used incorrectly, liquid may
leak from the battery. Avoid
contact with this. In the event of
accidental contact, rinse off with
water. If the liquid gets into eyes, seek
medical assistance. Leaking battery
uid may cause skin irritations or burns.
e) Do not use damaged or altered
batteries. Damaged or altered bat-
teries can be unpredictable and lead
to re, explosion or risk of injury.
f) Do not expose batteries to re
or elevated temperatures. Fire or
temperatures over 130°C can cause
an explosion.
g) Follow all instructions for charg-
ing and never charge the bat-
tery or the battery-powered
tool outside the temperature
range stated in the operating
instructions. Incorrect charging or
charging outside the permitted tem-
perature range may destroy the battery
and increase the risk of re.
6) SERVICE
a) Have your power tool serviced
by a qualied repair person us-
ing only identical replacement
parts. This will ensure that the safety
of the power tool is maintained.
b) Never repair damaged batter-
ies. All battery repairs should be car-
ried out by the manufacturer or author-
ised customer service centres only.

the blade. Do not attempt to re-
move clippings or to hold onto
material to be cut when the
blades are running. The blades
continue to move after turning off the
switch. A moment of inattention when
using the trimmer can result in serious
injuries.
b) Hold the hedge trimmer by the
handgrip when the blade is at
a standstill and make sure you
do not press the switch. Carrying
the hedge trimmer correctly reduces the
risk of inadvertent operation and being
injured by the blade as a result.
c) Always place the protective
cover onto the blades while
transporting or storing the
hedge trimmer. Careful handling of
the hedge trimmer reduces the risk of
injury from the blade.
d) Ensure that all switches are
turned off and the battery is
removed or switched off before
removing jammed clippings or
maintaining the machine. Unex-
pected operation of the hedge trimmer
when removing jammed material can
