Use
The VC-11 can be placed anywhere between analog signal sources and active studio monitors or a power
amplifier. The connection example shows a typical setup with a computer and studio monitors. A smartphone
serves as an alternative signal source. To avoid interfering noise, turn down the volume control all the way
prior to connecting and disconnecting equipment. Be sure to use only high-grade cables. The illustrations on
page 11 show the wiring of these cables.
Connect the signal source (PC sound card, DAW, CD player, etc.) whose volume you would like to
control with the VC-11 to the input jacks. The inputs accept XLR and 6.3 mm jack plugs, both balanced
or unbalanced.
The stereo mini jack input allows connecting audio sources like smartphones or portable MP3 players
via 3.5 mm jack plugs. If both inputs are connected simultaneously, the AUX input will take priority over
the combo inputs.
Connect active studio monitors or PA amplifiers to the 6.3 mm jack outputs. The outputs accept
balanced or unbalanced signals.
The stereo mini jack output carries the same signal as the 6.3 mm jack outputs. Use this output to
connect headphones or another subsequent audio device via 3.5 mm jack plugs. Both outputs are
simultaneously active and can be used at the same time.
Adjust the volume of the signal source as desired with the volume control. The control ranges from OFF
( ) to unity gain (MAX).
Engage the MUTE switch to mute the outputs. Disengage the switch to unmute.
Engage the MONO switch to combine the stereo signal into a monophonic signal at the left and right
monitor output. Disengage the switch to play the signals in stereo again.
