INTRODUCTION
THANK YOU!
Thank you for choosing the Nord Piano 6. This instrument has been
designed to present both an uncompromising piano playing experience,
as well as an elegant and hands-on user interface coupled with creative
and powerful sound design features.
The Triple Sensor keybed coupled with our Virtual Hammer Action
technology provides an unprecedented level of realism and enables a
wide range of piano playing techniques. Powered by the free and ever-
growing Nord Piano Library – an extensive collection of meticulously
sampled piano and keyboard instruments – we hope the Nord Piano 6
will keep your playing inspired for many years to come.
FEATURES
The Nord Piano 6 has the following main features:
• Piano section with two independent Layers for split or layered
configurations. Acoustic Grand and Upright pianos, Electric pianos,
Clavinet and Harpsichord sounds and a Digital category including
rich sounding piano layers. The Misc category provides a selection of
expressive mallet sounds such as a Marimba and a Vibraphone.
• 88 or 73 key Triple Sensor keybed with grand weighted action
• Nord Virtual Hammer Action technology
• Sample Synth section with two independent Layers, for split or layered
configurations.
• Comprehensive and independent Effects section per Piano and
Sample Synth Layer.
• Seamless Transitions: Sustaining notes are not cut off when changing
programs.
• Keyboard split functionality with KB Zone settings per Layer and
optional split cross-fade settings.

OS UPGRADES
The latest OS (Operating System) version for the Nord Piano 6 is always
available for download from our website. Please visit our website from
time to time or subscribe to the Nord Newsletter, to make sure you have
the latest version in your unit.
FREE SOUNDS
Since the Nord Piano 6 is designed as an open system, each and every
piano and sample in the Nord Piano 6 can be replaced. This is done
using the Nord Sound Manager application which is available as a free
download from our website.
The Nord Piano 6 is compatible with the continuously expanding Nord
Piano Library and the Nord Sample Library. When new sounds become
available, these can be download for free from the Sound Libraries
section of our website.
CUSTOM SAMPLES
Use the Nord Sample Editor 4 – available as a free download from our
website – for quick and easy creation of custom sample instruments.
Whether creating a fully mapped instrument, a simple FX sound or
assigning a sampled intro for a song to a single key, the Nord Sample
Editor 4 opens up many possibilities together with the Nord Piano 6.
RESTORING THE FACTORY PRESETS
Factory programs, samples and pianos are available as individual Nord
Sound Manager backup files for download from our website. There is
also a complete backup of the entire instrument and its factory content,
if it needs to be restored to its original state at some point.
