reCoMMended aMplifier poWer
We recommend an amplier with a power rating as listed in the specications
page of this manual for optimum performance. Outdoor speakers typically require
more power than indoor speakers. The outdoor environment is usually noisier
and has less reective surfaces to make the system sound louder. Therefore, the
use of a higher power amplier is recommended.
Ironically, most speakers are not damaged by large ampliers but by small
ampliers. When playing the loudspeaker at higher volumes, a small amplier
will run out of power very quickly. When an amplier runs out of power it creates
damaging “clipping” distortion. A large amplier will play at the same volume
without causing this distortion.
