NOT CARRY OUT ASSEMBLY, ADJUSTMENT OR OPERATION OF
THE EQUIPMENT.
SPECIFIC SAFETY PROVISIONS
Basic information
• Read and understand these instructions before using, repairing,
maintaining, replacing components, or working in the vicinity of the
unit. Failure to do so may lead to serious personal injury.
• The impact tool should only be operated by qualified and trained
operators.
• Do not make modifications to the device yourself. This reduces the
safety of the device and increases the likelihood of an accident.
• Keep the operating manual for future reference. Hand it over to the
operator.
• Do not use the tool if any damage is found.
• Check that the tool has all the markings required by ISO 11148. If
the markings need to be replaced, the operator/employer should
contact the tool manufacturer.
Fragmentation hazards
• It is essential to disconnect the unit from the power supply before
replacing accessories or maintaining the unit.
• Watch out for parts of the damaged workpiece or, if damaged, the
tool, moving at high speed.
• It is essential to wear impact-resistant eye protection when working.
• Protective headgear (helmet) must be worn when working above
head height.
• When working, the safety of bystanders must be kept in mind.
• Ensure that the workpiece is correctly restrained.
• Impact tool accessories and working tools must be correctly
positioned in the chuck before starting work.
• Accessories and handles should be replaced when worn, cracked
or deformed to avoid accidents.
• The work tool should be correctly pressed against the work surface
before the impact tool is started.
Risks associated with handling
• During operation, the operator's hands are exposed to heat,
abrasions or cuts.
• The operator and other persons working with the equipment must
be physically fit for the weight, power, and dimensions of the
equipment.
• Hold the impact tool correctly. Be ready to resist sudden or slow
movements of the tool with both hands.
• Maintain a safe and stable body position while working.
• Stop operation of the unit if the power supply is interrupted.
• Only use lubricants recommended by the manufacturer
• Do not touch the work tool during and immediately after work, as
there is a risk of burns.
• Eye protection should be worn. Appropriate work attire and gloves
are recommended.
Risks associated with repetitive motion
• Working with a grinder for long periods of time can cause fatigue
and discomfort in the hands, arms, neck or other parts of the body.
• Maintain a comfortable, safe and stable position, avoiding unstable
body positions. The position should be changed from time to time to
prevent fatigue.
• If there are prolonged, distressing symptoms such as discomfort,
pain, twitching, tingling, numbness, burning or stiffness of body
parts, these should not be ignored. The operator should consult a
doctor himself or through his employer.
Risks associated with accessories
• It is essential to disconnect the unit from the power supply before
replacing accessories or maintaining the unit.
• Only use work tools or accessories recommended by the impact tool
manufacturer.
• Avoid direct contact with the working tool during and after work as
there is a risk of burns or cuts.
Hazards in the workplace
• Tripping, slipping and falling risks an accident. Ensure that the
ground is not slippery or does not become slippery during operation.
Ensure that the position of the air hose is not a tripping hazard.
• Always be aware of your surroundings, especially when working in
an unfamiliar area. Watch out for wires and other obstructions.
