FREEZING FRESH PRODUCTS
The freezer may only be used to freeze products that are suitable for freezing and tolerate low
temperatures. The products must be fresh and of the best possible quality.
It is recommended to choose the right packaging as well as correct packing method.
The packaging must not allow air and moisture to pass through, otherwise the food may dry
out and vitamins may be lost.
The foil and bags must be soft so that they adhere well to the surface of the products.
The type, quantity and date of freezing of the products should be marked on the packed
products.
It is very important for the products to freeze quickly; thus, it is recommended using smaller
portions and chilling them a little before placing them into the freezer.
The maximum amount of fresh food that should be placed in the freezer at one time in 24
hours is 4 kg. If the amount of products is greater than the recommended quantity, the freezing
quality is reduced and the quality of the frozen products deteriorates.
FREEZING METHOD
Freeze the products in the quick freeze compartment (upper compartment).
24 hours before putting in the products to be frozen, set the thermostat knob to the “maxi-
mum” position.
After 12 hours, put the products into the freezer.
After 24 hours, the frozen products can be placed in the storage baskets, repeat the freezing
cycle for the next products if necessary. Fresh food should not come into contact with pre-
viously frozen food.
About 24 hours after putting in the last batch of fresh produce, turn the thermostat knob to
the “normal” position.
STORAGE OF FROZEN PRODUCTS
The storage period and temperature are marked on the packaging of industrially frozen prod-
ucts. When storing and preparing purchased frozen foods, follow the manufacturers instruc-
tions. For purchase, choose frozen foods properly packaged, accurately labelled and stored in
freezers at a minimum temperature of -18°C. Do not buy products with frost on them, as this
is a sign that they have already been defrosted and re-frozen. Purchased frozen food must be
protected before defrosting, as their higher temperature at the time of placing in the freezer
shortens the storage time and deteriorates their quality.
