MAINTENANCE AND CARE

The required maintenance of the tube and controls is limited

to the removal of dust and dirt that can aect the operational

elements of the riflescope. Dust, sand and dirt should be rinsed

o under running water and the scope carefully patted dry with

a clean cloth afterwards.

Note: Do not make any changes to the riflescope other than

those described in these instructions. Refrain especially

from unscrewing or removing elements as the seals can

be damaged or mechanical functions of the riflescope

adversely aected, thus voiding the warranty.

The lenses should be protected by caps or similar to avoid

damage and soiling when the riflescope is not in use.

The lenses and seals must not come into contact with oil or

solvents. When cleaning your weapon, make sure that the

riflescope is protected from contact with cleaning agents.

When cleaning the lenses with commercial lens cleaning

products, the manufacturer’s instructions must be observed.

Cleaning cloths and cleaning sticks must be clean and free of

foreign bodies, as these can damage the surface when rubbed

against the lenses. Coarse soiling can be rinsed o under

running water. Clean the lenses with a soft cloth (cleaning cloth

for optics). The lenses should be cleaned only if they are dirty

enough to aect the image.

Note: When rinsing the riflescope under running water,

avoid strong jets of water as this may damage the seals.

TROUBLESHOOTING

Accuracy problems

One of the most common causes for inaccuracy (excessively

large groups, double groups, stringing or flyers) is caused by

improper mounting of the riflescope. Check all mounting

components for tightness. Furthermore, make sure that the

barrel is free of oil, cleaning agents and excessive fouling by

powder residue and projectile debris. Use ammunition from the

same manufacturer and lot number, and place the weapon on

a solid surface such as a sandbag. If accuracy problems should

persist, please contact a qualified gunsmith to have your

weapon examined.
