If the new memory does not include an operating system, you must

install an appropriate operating system.

19.3. Inserting the ﬂ ash memory expansion module

Proceed as follows:

 Switch off the notebook by shutting it down normally. Turn the notebook over

and place it on a stable and level surface to prevent the notebook from falling.

 Remove the screws from the base of the notebook and remove the cover of the

flash memory expansion module. Remove the screw in the slot.

 Push the flash memory expansion module into the slot with the contacts

pointing to the right and secure it again with the previously removed screw .

 Replace the cover and screw it tight.

The additional memory is recognised by the operating system and integrated if this

is already formatted or contains data.

In the event of problems with the installation of the additional memory,

read chapter “FAQ – frequently asked questions”.

20. Securing Your Notebook

20.1. Password Setting (Power-on)

You can protect your notebook against unauthorised use with a power-on

password. On switching on the notebook, a password prompt will appear on the

screen. The password is set up in the UEFI configuraton.

Please note that changes should only be carried out

here by very experienced users, as changes in the UEFI

setting may have implications for the stable operation

of the notebook.

 Keep your password in a safe place. If you forget

your password, you have no way of deleting it. If this

happens, contact your service centre.

You can also use the Windows® security options to protect your data against

unauthorised access.
