3.5 Prevention from Electrolysis
If the material of the stern on which the windlass is positioned is a good conductor of electricity then, it is essential
that the anchor windlass be insulated from the stern through a non-conductive gasket (not supplied).
Without this precaution, various corrosion phenomenon will cause a rapid deterioration of the anchor
windlass.
The installer is responsible to protect the windlass from electrolysis and galvanic corrosion between the
windlass and the hull.
