5. Start-up
Observe safety instructions on page 16 on and "Operation and handling"
5.1 Commissioning
After observing the instructions under 16. "Set-up and connection" the mixer can be started.
With the electric mixer, the switch is located directly on the motor.
All electric motors are equipped with a no-voltage release. If the mains voltage fails during operation,
the motor will not start by itself when the mains voltage returns.
The motor must be switched on again.
When using a mixer with a three-phase motor, ensure that the direction of rotation is correct as
indicated by the arrow on the mixing drum or, when looking into the mixing drum, to the left.
(Counter clockwise).
If the direction of rotation is incorrect, reverse 2 phases of the supply cable in the coupling or the plug
by reconnecting. This may only be carried out by a qualified electrician!
A commercially available CEE plug with phase inverter offers an smart solution for changing the
direction of rotation of three-phase motors.
For mixers with internal combustion engine, it is essential to read and observe the safety and
operating instructions on the engine and in the separate engine manual before commissioning!
5.2 Handling
5.2.1 Mixing drum position
For concrete or mortar mixing, the mixing drum must be in a certain
mixing position (inclination). In the flatter drum inclination ("K1"),
earth-moist to plastic concrete or similar mixtures are produced. In
the steeper drum inclination ("K3") mortar or softer concrete is
produced. The drum inclination for plastic concrete between "K1"
and "K3" is "K2".
The mixing positions "K1" and "K3" are marked on the brake disc by
holes and labelling. In the middle between "K1" and "K3" is the
setting for "K2".
To obtain the desired mixing position, the corresponding mark must be placed on the tip of the arrow
(see Fig.).
The adjustment of the drum inclination is infinitely variable by stepping on and releasing the foot brake
pedal and can be made to both sides of the machine.
Pressing the pedal down = Release
Releasing the pedal = Locking
Never set the mixing drum at a steeper angle than specified.
Only a horizontally positioned mixer and the correct mixing positions ensure the best mixing results and
guarantee a trouble-free workflow.
