Remove the heat sink
Make sure the following FRUs (or CRUs) have been removed.
“Remove the lower case” on page 28
Step 1. Disconnect the battery pack cable from the system board. Loosen three screws in alphabetic order
as shown. Then, remove the heat sink.

Go to https://support.lenovo.com/partslookup to look up the Lenovo part numbers of the following
replacement part:

Remove the fan
Make sure the following FRUs (or CRUs) have been removed.

Step 1. Disconnect the battery pack cable, the Wi-Fi antennas and the fan cables. Then, pull out the fan
cables.
