Heat sink
For access, remove this FRU:
• “Base cover assembly” on page 72
Step 1. Remove the heat sink as shown below.
Step 2. Install the heat sink in reverse order.
Note: Before you attach the heat sink to the computer, apply thermal grease on the parts marked
a and b as shown below according to the following table. Either too much or too less application
of grease can cause a thermal problem due to imperfect contact with a component. For the new
heat sink, you must peel the thin film off from the rubbers.
