Remove the I/O board
Make sure the following FRUs (or CRUs) have been removed.
“Remove the deco cover” on page 30
“Remove the lower case” on page 31
“Remove the 2280 solid-state drive (SSD) (for selected models)” on page 34
“Remove the Wi-Fi card” on page 39
“Remove the CMOS battery (for 15–inch models)” on page 41
“Remove the CMOS battery (for 16–inch models)” on page 41
“Remove the I/O board cable” on page 42
Step 1. Disconnect the battery pack cable from the system board.
Attention: Use your fingernail to pull the connector to unplug it. Do not pull the cable.
Step 2. Remove two screws and remove the I/O board.
