Remove the CMOS battery (for 15–inch models)
Make sure the following FRUs (or CRUs) have been removed.
“Remove the deco cover” on page 30
“Remove the lower case” on page 31
Step 1. Disconnect the battery pack cable from the system board.
Attention: Use your fingernail to pull the connector to unplug it. Do not pull the cable.
Step 2. Disconnect the CMOS battery cable from the I/O board and then remove the CMOS battery.

part:

Remove the CMOS battery (for 16–inch models)
Make sure the following FRUs (or CRUs) have been removed.

“Remove the Wi-Fi card” on page 39
Step 1. Disconnect the battery pack cable from the system board.
Attention: Use your fingernail to pull the connector to unplug it. Do not pull the cable.
Step 2. Disconnect the CMOS battery cable from the I/O board and then remove the CMOS battery.
