Lower case
Remove the lower case (for 16–inch models)
Make sure the computer has been shut down before servicing the computer.
Step 1. Place the computer upside down on a flat surface.
Step 2. Remove nine screws. Pry up the latches and then remove the lower case.

Make sure the following FRUs (or CRUs) have been removed.

Note: Depending on the computer model, the battery pack might look different.
Step 1. Disconnect the battery pack cable from the system board. Take the speaker cable out of the cable
guide.
