Bread is a food that can burn. DO NOT use the toaster near or under curtains or other
combustible materials. To prevent damage due to steam, condensation or re, do not use the
appliance near ammable liquids, under materials that are sensitive to heat or moisture, or under
protruding panels or lights.
Only toast slices of bread, bagels and unlled buns. DO NOT insert foods that may drip during
toasting. Such build-ups in the toaster create unhygienic conditions and may lead to re or a
toaster malfunction. This product is intended EXCLUSIVELY as an appliance for toasting sliced
bread, bagels and buns.
DO NOT use the appliance to toast or cook very dry cakes and pastries (e.g. biscuits) or lled
sandwiches.
To prevent the risk of re or toaster malfunction, frequently clean any crumbs that may build up.
DO NOT use the toaster without the crumb tray in the correct position.
To prevent the risk of burns, DO NOT activate the product without bread.
To reduce the risk of re or electric shock, DO NOT insert foods covered with lm or that are too
big into the toaster (recommended size 12x12 cm, maximum thickness 2.5 cm). The slices of
bread must not protrude from the slots. DO NOT insert ngers or metal utensils into the toasting
slots while the appliance is plugged into the mains.
DO NOT force the food into the toasting slots as it could damage the mechanism.
DO NOT try to remove food while the toaster is operating.
NEVER insert sharp utensils into any part of the toaster, especially not into the toasting slots.
• Always make sure that there are no foreign objects in the slots before use.
• Immediately disconnect the appliance in the event of malfunction or problems (e.g. overheating
or smoke from the slots). Wait for the toaster to cool down and then carefully remove the jammed
slices of bread, take care not to damage the heating elements on either side of the slot.
Use the appliance as described in these instructions. Improper use may result in injury, electric
shock or other hazards.
This appliance is NOT suitable for professional use, but solely for domestic use.

All food contact materials are food grade.
• Power supply specications:
for the HI1001 model (2-slice toaster): 220-240V ~ 50-60Hz 750-880W,
for the HI1041 model (4-slice toaster) 220-240V ~ 50-60Hz 1500-1760W
Plug type: BS 1363 mains plug containing a 13A fuse. If it ever becomes necessary to replace
the fuse, only use fuses that are marked BS 1362, and rated at 13A.
• Environmental working conditions: +10°C +40°C; relative humidity ≤95%
• Environmental storage conditions: +5 °C +45 °C; relative humidity ≤95%
OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
INSTALLATION
A short power cable is provided to reduce the entanglement or tripping hazards associated with
a long cable. Extension cables can be used, provided that they are used with great care. If an
extension cord is used, the electrical rating of the detachable power cable or extension cable shall
be at least equal to that of the appliance. The extension must have an earthed 3-wire cable. The
extension cable shall be arranged so that it does not hang from the worktop or table as it could be
