suitable for horizontal use. A
co mp et e nt pe rs on m us t
calculate the fall clearance before
each use. The fall clearance must
include consideration for swing falls.
Clearance specified is based on the lifeline
installed vertically overhead and in line with
workers
This device is meant to be used

inst ructio ns and regu latory
guidelines. Before use, inspect
for
any signs of damage,
wear, or ma lfunc tioni ng
components. Check lifeline
retraction by pulling out the
entire length of the lifeline
and allow it to retract
under light tension; lifeline
should retract completely.
Pull sharply to test locking
functi on; brake s must
eng age. Befo re u se,
inspect the condition and
functions of the lifeline,
condition of fasteners ,
and legibility of labels.
Also check for evidence
of defects, damage, or
miss ing pa rts. Check
impact indicator for signs
of activation. Inspection
mus t b e d one by a
Competent Person and
recorded every 6 months.
