• The water tastes of plastic:
Generally, this happens when the kettle is new, don't drink the water from the first few times of boiling. If the
problem persists, fill the kettle to the maximum, add two teaspoons of bicarbonate of soda. Bring to the boil
or leave to stand for a couple of hours, don’t drink the water. Rinse out the kettle.
IF YOUR KETTLE HAS BEEN DROPPED, IF IT LEAKS OR IF THERE IS VISIBLE DAMAGE TO THE
POWER CORD, THE PLUG OR THE KETTLE BASE:
Return your kettle to your KRUPS After Sales Service Centre, for only they are authorised to carry out
repairs.
Refer to the guarantee conditions and the list of centres in the booklet supplied with your kettle. The type and
serial number are shown on the bottom of your kettle. This guarantee covers manufacturing defects and
domestic household use only. Any breakage or damage resulting from failure to follow these instructions for
use is not covered by the guarantee.
☛ KRUPS reserves the right to modify the characteristics or components of its kettles at any time, in the
interests of the consumer.
☛ Do not use the kettle if there is evidence of damage. No attempt must be made to dismantle the
appliance or its safety devices.
☛ If the power cord is damaged, it must be replaced by an authorised service centre or a similarly qualified
person, to avoid any danger.

For a child, a burn or a scald, even if slight, can sometimes be serious.
As they grow up, teach your children to be aware of hot liquids to be found in the kitchen. Place the kettle
and its power cord well to the back of any work surface, out of the reach of children.
If an accident does occur, run cold water over the scald immediately and call a doctor if necessary.
☛ To avoid any accident, never carry your young child or baby while drinking or carrying a hot drink.
