Freezing Fresh Food
• The freezer compartment is suitable for freezing fresh food and storing frozen or
deep-frozen food for extended periods.
• Place fresh food to be frozen in the lower drawer.
• The maximum amount of food that can be frozen within 24 hours is specified on the
appliance's rating plate.
• The freezing process takes 24 hours. During this period, do not add more food to be
frozen.
Thawing
• Deep-frozen or frozen food can be thawed in the fridge or at room temperature,
depending on the time available.
• Small portions of food may be cooked directly from frozen. In this case, allow extra
cooking time.
Hints for Freezing
To optimise the freezing process:
• Refer to the rating plate for the maximum quantity of food that can be frozen within 24
hours.
• Avoid adding additional food during the 24-hour freezing period.
• Use only top-quality, fresh, and thoroughly cleaned food for freezing.
• Divide food into small portions to ensure rapid and complete freezing. This also allows
you to thaw only the needed quantity later.
• Wrap food in aluminium foil or polythene and ensure packages are airtight.
• Prevent fresh, unfrozen food from touching already frozen items to avoid raising their
temperature.
• Lean foods store better and longer than fatty foods; note that salt reduces the storage
life of frozen food.
• Consuming water ice immediately after removal from the freezer can cause freeze
burns to the skin.
• Label each package with the freezing date to track storage duration.
