Tips for Storing Frozen Food:
• Ensure that commercially frozen food was properly stored by the retailer.
• Transfer frozen food to the freezer as quickly as possible after purchase.
• Minimise door openings and avoid leaving the door open for extended periods.
• Once defrosted, food deteriorates rapidly and must not be refrozen.
• Do not exceed the storage period recommended by the food manufacturer.
Thawing
• Frozen or deep-frozen food can be thawed in the fridge compartment or at room
temperature, depending on how quickly it needs to be used.
• Small portions of frozen food can be cooked directly from the freezer, though cooking
time will be longer.
Fresh Food Refrigeration
To achieve the best performance:
• Do not store warm food or evaporating liquids inside the refrigerator.
• Cover or wrap food, especially those with strong odours, to prevent flavour transfer.
Hints for Refrigeration:
• Meat (all types): Wrap in polythene bags and place on the glass shelves above the
vegetable drawer. For safety, store for no more than one to two days.
• Cooked foods and cold dishes: Cover and store on any shelf.
• Fruit and vegetables: Clean thoroughly before placing them in the designated
vegetable drawer(s).
• Butter and cheese: Store in airtight containers or wrap in aluminium foil or polythene
bags to minimise exposure to air.
• Milk bottles: Ensure they have a cap and store them in the door balconies.
• Do not store unpacked bananas, potatoes, onions, or garlic in the fridge.
