6.3 Replacing or fitting/removing the fleece filter
Replacing the fleece filter
Both the pre-installed carbon filter fleece supplied
and other types of activated carbon and fleece filters cannot be
washed or regenerated
and must be replaced every 3-12 months,
depending on the frequency of use of your cooker hood
(in individual cases also at shorter intervals),
but at least after 120 hours of use.
For exhaust air operation, you can purchase a simple
filter fleece of a similar thickness to the one supplied,
but for recirculating air operation you should use an
activated carbon fleece due to its odour-binding properties
(both types are available in DIY stores, for example).
Note: In general, ensure that the fleece filter
is adequately protected from high heat!
Disassembling and reinserting the fleece filter
• To remove a used fleece filter,
remove the filter plate from the bottom of the appliance
as described in the corresponding section of this chapter.
• Remove the fleece filter from the holder
on the inside of the filter plate.
• Dispose of the used activated carbon filter properly.
Fitting the fleece filter
• If necessary, cut the new filter fleece
to the appropriate size.
• Place the fleece filter on the inside
of the filter plate removed from the appliance
in the holder frame and secure it with the filter clamps.
• Make sure that the fleece filter is stable
and correctly positioned so that it cannot come loose!
• Reinsert the filter plate with the now attached fleece filter
as described in the corresponding section of this chapter.
