5-2. Correction of the sewing data
If the nished stitches sewn with the selected sewing pattern data have defects, copy new pattern data and
correct it following the procedure described below.
5-2-1. Teaching of the multi-layered portion of material
Refer to
"4-4-4. How to carry out teaching of the multi-layered section of material" p. 28
for how to
carry out teaching of the multi-layered portion of material.
If the changeover timing is not correct, stitch gathering can be caused.

Precautions regarding stitch gathering
S005 Presser foot pressure (sewing ma-
chine)
25 If the presser foot pressure is too high, stitches are likely to
gather at the multi-layered portions of material. To prevent
stitch gathering, set the presser foot pressure to a low value.
It should be noted, however, that the presser foot pressure
should be set to the highest possible value as long as stitch
gathering does not occur.
Higher presser foot pressure helps stabilize the feed.
S015 Cloth pulling amount when the
presser foot runs on the multi-lay-
ered portion of material (cloth
puller)
3.5 Do not set the cloth pulling amount to a value that is smaller
than stitch pitch. If the cloth pulling amount is smaller than
stitch pitch, stitch gathering can be caused.
S016 Cloth pulling pressure when the
presser foot runs on the multi-lay-
ered portion of material (cloth
puller)
100 If the cloth puller pressure (cloth puller) when running on
the multi-layered portion of material is too low, the eciency
of feed will be decreased causing stitch gathering at that
portion. To prevent this problem, it is necessary to set the
aforementioned cloth puller pressure to a high value.
S071 Cloth puller pressure when the
cloth puller runs on the multi-lay-
ered portion of material
-30 If the cloth puller pressure is too high, stitches are likely to
gather at the multi-layered portions of material. To prevent
stitch gathering, set the cloth puller pressure to a low value.
It should be noted, however, that the cloth puller pressure
should be set to the highest possible value when using the
material that causes no problem. In the case the cloth puller
pressure is set to a higher value, stitch gathering will not be
likely to occur even when the material is pulled.

cloth puller runs on the multi-lay-
ered portion of material
150 If the presser foot pressure is too low, stitch gathering can be
caused (in particular when the operator pulls the material).
